What does feminist foreign policy look like?

With terrorists, the refugee crisis and cyber attacks defying national borders, the standard foreign policy toolkit is looking increasingly more defunct.

New forms of conflict demand innovative responses and some leaders around the world are already turning to more a transformative approach to foreign policy by adopting a gendered lens on their global strategies in the hopes of empowering women and thus advancing peace and prosperity.

At this year’s Fabian Society New Year’s conference, the Fabian Women’s Network will explore what a more holistic approach to foreign policy, which pursues gender equality as its fundamental aim, looks like in practice.
