About the Event

In the spirit of International Women’s Day please join us on Zoom on Wednesday 9th March at 7pm as we celebrate some of the incredible women leading the fight against sexism, injustice and inequality in the UK. On the panel will be:

  • Abena Oppong-Asare, Labour MP for Erith and Thamesmead, Chair of Labour Women’s Network and as Shadow Exchequer Secretary, one of the incredible females in Labour’s Treasury team.
  • Sisters Maya and Gemma Tutton, who are fighting to make street harassment a crime through their campaign Our Streets Now.
  • Jessie Joe Jacobs, Labour’s Candidate for Tees Valley Mayor, campaigning to become England’s first female metro mayor.
  • Sian Elliot, Women’s Equality Office at the Trade Union Congress, who are leading the call for the EHRC to investigate Gov Ministers for breaking gender equality laws in their response to the pandemic.

Join us to be inspired by these amazing women who continue to fight for change when the world seems endlessly bleak. Please RSVP in advance here.
