SISTERHOOD, SOLIDARITY, SERVICE

Fabian Exec Committee

It is an incredible privilege to be the chair of the diverse, dynamic, nationwide sisterhood of women that make up the Fabian Women’s Network. I continually learn so much from our insightful, compassionate, hard-working FWN executive committee and FWN members. We are at an exciting moment in our journey with a well-established mentoring scheme going from strength to strength. Our current FWN executives are working on a packed programme of policy work we look forward to realising. We are striving to be a welcoming place, an anti-racist, intersectional feminist network. There are many opportunities and huge potential in FWN. Will you join us to support more diverse women in politics and public life and influence policy to the benefit of sisters everywhere? We are entirely run by volunteers, so please consider serving other sisters and standing for our executive committee.

In sisterhood,
Marianna

Publications

Solidarity, equality and opportunity: creating strong social justice systems for women

Solidarity, equality and opportunity: creating strong social justice systems for women was released at the 2022 Labour Party Conference

In summer 2022 Fabian Women’s Network (FWN) ran a series of invite-only roundtables with shadow ministers, Welsh government ministers, police and crime commissioners, experts by experience, academics and charity sector experts looking at women and the justice system. Each took a topic to consider in detail to generate ideas for policy; these are discussions are being converted to visual outputs and are a partner piece to this booklet.

The roundtables focused on women, justice and: violence against women and girls; their children; housing; welfare and work; health.

Mums in Politics - Published 2021

"Mums in Politics" was released as part of our fringe events at the 2021 Labour Party Conference.

Containing a wide representation of mother's experiences from across the movement, this publication calls for better diversity and representation in politics.

It was organised by Cllr's Kelly Grehan, Anya Sizer, Mumtaz Khan and Sara Hyde. Edited by Emily Batchelor. Design and layout produced by Rachel Maguire.
